War Investing—
A Confession In Verse
I’m no dummy, I know the score
There’s more at stake in this new war
Than whether markets romp or stew
I shouldn’t care
But yes—I do.
I’m not that big on politics
From shaking fists I get no kicks
It’s just that what I’ve long most feared
My nest egg’s shriv’ling
Now—I’m scared.
Ev’ry time stocks dip a fraction
My own life feels the contraction
I know I’m selfish thus to fret
But I’ve no moorings
Adrift—no net
This war has got to finish soon
And then there’s got to be a boom
This market seesaw’s made me manic
This isn’t just a blip—
It’s panic
