Some big name bankers came to Washington the other day to admit, in a manner of speaking, that some of the money they've gotten from the public purse has been used foolishly, and that they have now learned their lesson. Why was I not moved by these comments?

Wall Street Bankers Are
Called To Account (Sort Of)

This country's best paid bankers
Have been so very naughty
Which hadn't much inclined them
To be less very haughty.

But ev'ry year just once or twice
These masters of the bumble
Before some angry congressmen
Appear to do a humble.

Now maybe this contrition act
For some is therapeutic
Me? I think we'll shortly see
More games that will refute it.

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post

"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today
