This past week Fed Chairman Greenspan said he believed the economic recovery is showing signs of traction. Humm. What (if anything) does that mean?

The Traction Poem

In the 90’s the stock market
Was the place you went for action;
Now is seems in our own decade
The new goal here’s just some traction.

Or at least that’s Greenspan’s notion,
His obscurious reaction,
To some troub’ling early signals,
Of a possible contraction.

I must say my own faction,
Ain’t impressed by that abstraction
Asset growth, profit extraction,
What we want—not "signs of traction."
