Unless, of course, it serves some end;

Dipping pens in office inkwells
Often has sad voter sequels;

Accept no bribes, they’re so passe
A job for junior’s the better way;

On great issues be most vocal
Provided there’s a hook that’s local;

Amass big perks, but then reveal
These goodies serve the public weal.
