A Tea Party
House Rep's Lament

When my way had them quaking,
With none did I play nice;
But a DC pro took me aside
And gave this sage advice:
With poor folks' perks go fiddle,
And do a middle whittle;
But one thing is forbidden,
Sam's triple-A don't diddle.

Still my way had them quaking,
So I shrugged and threw the dice;
'Cause where my backers gather
Compromise is viewed as vice;
I thought I'd rolled a seven
With demands of spending bars;
But voters got so angry
I may have rolled boxcars.
