In this present most curious political era when Republicans are such a united flock, every Democrat with a pet issue or ax to grind a la Lieberman and Nelson in the Senate and now Stupak in the House, can do grievous damage to their party and tens of millions of its constituents — can do so simply by administering the proverbial stab in the back...

Stab In The Back
(Sung to the tune
of Ballin' The Jack)

First you wait in ambush 'til the vote is tight,
Then you pop up with an issue you're convinced ain't slight,
You don't accept a compromise, you're sure you're right,
Then you get a lot of tube time, get it day and night.

You know your party's hurting, this could really bite,
In the next election cycle prove a crushing blight,
For millions lacking health care you think: 'Screw their plight,
I'll put a stop to free choice, that's my guiding light."

Your head held high
You'll take your whack
Cast that no vote
Stab in the back.

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post

"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today
