Economic growth isn't a good thing in and of itself. If the fruits of growth aren't apportioned in an equitable manner it merely enriches a relative few while the rest are often worse off than before. That's what happened in America in recent decades after a well-financed conservative campaign turned the "L" word, liberal, into a sneer word. Might it now be time to take another look?

Return Of The Liberal?

I am an old time liberal
For years I've been in hiding,
I've watched conservatives at play
Ignoring all my chiding.

They claimed there'd be a trickle down
Instead wealth just gushed up,
And from the growth we all have wrought
Just a few have filled their cup.

Will we again the "L" road take
'Cause the 'C' road's got you stewing?
Or will more clouds of babble speak
Produce more years of screwing?
