A new consumer protection agency is part of the recently passed financial reform package. The logical person to head this agency, Elizabeth Warren, has superb credentials for the job and a long personal history supporting exactly the kind of protection this new agency is supposed to provide. But in Washington, it seems, this very competence makes the powers that be nervous...

The Problem With Liz Warren

The problem with Liz Warren
Are persistent scary rumours
That in dealing with big lenders
She might favor small consumers.

While the minnows of the Beltway
Prepping for mid-term elections
In loud voices are demanding
For consumers more protections;

Truth be told the likes of Warren
Get them hot under their collars,
Honest servants of investors
Could cost minnows big bank dollars.

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective.That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post

"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today
