Of course there's no inflation. The experts have made that clear. So how come I'm paying more for so many basics these days?
The No Inflation Poem
We're told there's no inflation,
That prices ain't got higher
'Bout this the Fed is adamant.
(Could Bernanke be a liar?)
When I visit with a doctor,
A more costly payment's due;
All those gotcha fees from banks,
And airlines, too, on gotcha's queue.
Gas pump prices weekly rising,
While my food bill's up as well,
To cart my trash my town now charges,
Something here just doesn't jell.
Economists are clever people,
Well meaning, too, of that I'm certain.
But twixt their numbers and my life,
Has grown a sight- and soundproof curtain.
