The Bernie Madoff Saga
(Continued)

Bernie told Ruthie don't worry
I'll stand up and take the whole rap
Well paid lawyers will diddle the law courts
With some fancy legal pap
When it's over I'll take the fall
And you will end keeping it all.

Of course that don't mean I'll do hard time
I'm a hero but I ain't a dope
When they ask me to tell how I did it
I'll give forth with endless soft soap
With luck this canard will not fail
To win one more year out of jail.

But if I do time in some slammers
It will be in new upscale joints
There I'll turn out a best-selling memoir
Get upfront cash plus points
This I'll give to the poor as a dole
When its time to come up for parole.

The moral of Bernie's strange saga
Sure isn't that justice is blind
There's another thing here to consider
One felons like him oft' remind
That their penalties don't usually fit
The size of the crimes they commit.

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post

"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today
