Labor union heroes like Joe Hill have been immortalized in song. Why not heroes of Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand — and Rand herself?
I Dreamed I Saw
Ayn Rand Last Night
I dreamed I saw Ayn Rand last night,
It gave me quite a chill,
"They won't heed you for long," I cried,
Said she: "Oh yes they will."
Said she: "Oh yes they will."
Her acolytes have risen high,
For now agendas set,
But I opined: "They'll soon be gone,"
She smirked, "You wanna bet,"
She smirked, "You wanna bet."
Her cardboard hero, Johnny Galt,
Thought he 'bove others stood,
"Are we to buy that swill?" I asked
"Of course," she said, "You should,
"His way's the greater good."
I dreamed I saw Ayn Rand last night,
She waved her writing quill,
And shaped with it a dollar sign,
This new Queen of The Hill,
I felt a royal chill.
