Those darn workers in low wage countries. You give them a chance to toil for a pittance, and the next thing you know they start demanding a decent weekly take home. Just look at those recent strikes in China! Manufacturers are thus always seeking parts of the world where they can still get a day's labor for an hour's pay — as this poem explains...
Hunting The Elusive
Low Wage Haven
When you have to find a country where wage scales are drop ceiling,
'Cause the price points for your products must be low to be appealing,
Failing that you're dumped by Wal-Mart, your investors start a'squealing,
So you canvass global markets, and this quest can be revealing.
That old stand-by, Mainland China, that once greened your botom line,
Now has workers gone all testy, so past plans you must refine,
Mexico, its northern region, still a wage sump on our border,
But those nasty drug gang shoot outs threaten scheduling disorder.
So to meet the competition you go searching near and far,
Should you relocate to Mambai, open shop in Myanmar?
Then at last you find the answer, a locale that makes you glad,
In the world's most needy nation, your dream location, little Chad.
