Wall Street Poet
Michael Silverstein's
Satirical Verse |
|
|

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post
"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today

The World Economic Forum in Davos is often a harbinger of changing global trends and preferences. This year, some of these changes were disturbing.
Dollar Dissing In Davos
To Davos evry year they come
The worlds finance elite,
To gossip and big deals cut
And market mates to greet.
You know the years big players
They arent hard to spot,
Theyre surrounded by new friends
Who nod and laugh a lot.
This year the Chinese drew the crowds
Which wasnt a surprise,
Theyre growing clout is hard to miss
Their star is on the rise.
So when the top man in this group
Made diss-diss bout the dollar,
The American contingent
Tried to smile--but couldnt swaller.
