I’m really not a druggie,
Don’t jump to that conclusion,
Though for my present problems
There’s a 6 percent solution.

It’s not found in green bottles;
It’s not packaged up as pills;
It’s a money market rate
That would let me pay my bills.

How fondly I remember
Just a few short years ago;
You could opt for super-safe
When investing all your dough.

The return back then was modest,
Not bonanzaville like stock,
But it trumped a low inflation
And was steady as a rock.

Now T-bill int’rest’s paltry;
The money markets’ gray;
You can put your savings in a sock
For much the same payday.

So my quandary (simply stated)
Is a matter of infusions:
From the cash that I’ve been parking
I need bigger distributions.
