It may seem presumptuous to write a financial calendar for all of 2002 in September. But since we already know what happened in the first nine months of the year, and have a pretty good (and frightening) idea of what’s coming in the next three, I thought I’d take a whack and beat the end-year rush.
A 2002 Financial
Calendar in Verse
January, skittish action
February, a mean contraction
March, my losses start to wax
April, whacked by income tax
May, there’s angst in Argentina
June, my stocks go to the cleaner
July, for Tylenol I reach
August, slink off to the beach
September brings some new war fears
October spawns Black Friday scares
November, politicians rant
December, Christmas joy is scant
Two thousand two is such a bummer
I hope two thousand three’s not glummer.
