Strapped, with cash
by Darren K. Sanders

Preoccupied with economic articulations of life that be,
Retracing the beaten path, human touch breaks handle off my cup of tea

Was I subpoenaed to blurt out my subtleties as gothic style poetry,
The sky was falling upon my sense of cash flow while under coy tree

Uncultivated frustration not always conveniently window-dressed,
Forget indicting white-collar crimes, at any time covertly suppressed

Corporate irony, the snafu on the perch, the size of that boulder,
Whistle blower on the other side need first look over either shoulder

Notable status bar so high, have to pole vault from atop cloud nine,
Underbelly with feet on the ground, new metaphor for toe the line

So plausible to label penniless in fear when patience is wearing thin,
It once was overwhelming when given cement boots and neither fin

Underworld has a variety of meanless ends yet knowledge is concealed,
Leaving mentalities to squeam, my state of mind uneasily being peeled

Asea with monetary suffering, their prioritized denial forever erratic,
Portrait of a deserted island absorbing ones finances if uncharismatic

I virtually walked ethereal plank after mentally sailing the 7 seas,
Imagine deeper reserves except for 3-quarter compounded annual fees

Yet reflected neath financial forecasting preheated in contemplation,
Telescopic issues inflaming juridic minds, burning rubber in rotation

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post

"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today
