The Light Was Solid Red
by Earl Coleman
Toolin' in my blue Corvette
White Porsche flashes past
I follow like an F-1 jet
and Smokey busts my ass
Man, you know what I mean -
The light was solid red
But I saw green.
My broker yells, your last chance, Joe,
This stock'll hit the moon,
I hock my wheels and stereo -
won't see my money soon
Man, you know what I mean -
the light was solid red
But I saw green.
We're tryin' to cut down your tax,
Kill off that welfare state,
I voted in those no-good hacks -
I saved $1.98
Man, you know what I mean -
The light was solid red
But I saw green.
