Four Legs Good,
Two Legs Bad
by Mary Cresswell
After many a hopeful hour
in the corridors of power,
at last Im getting there.
Theyve chosen me to head a group
to prop our corporate structure up,
and today I am a chair.
In my position, Ill be bound
to keep my feet upon the ground
so they are well aware
they cannot miss my bottom line
or where Im standing over time
now that I am a chair.
Accessible from either side
I have no secrets left to hide
my functions plain and clear.
no vestige of humanity
not -woman, -man or -person, me ...
today I am a chair.
